why does released retention affect the posted transaction in the cost report

Posted on by 18
Dear D365 Forum members,

There are differences between TB in General Ledger (Account Balance)  and Posted transactions in the project, and after some investigation,
I noticed that the variance exactly came from released retention; it affected the posted transactions !

    Hi Mohammad,

    Can you provide screenshots, please? I'm currently not sure if I understand your question. What do you mean by "posted transaction"? Is this a ledger transaction, vendor transaction, customer transaction, project transaction, or some other transaction?

    Hi André

    TB = trial balance,

    for example ,
    • if we make invoice with 100 $ with 5 $ reteintion amount , you will have 100 $ on the posted transactionand when try to release the retained amount of the 5$ it will effect also on the posted transaction.
    So my question now is why the released retention affects the posted transaction, because we consider the posted transaction essential to the project's cost report.

    or just i should to filter the released transaction from the report to get the cost report ?

    Thanks in advance !

    Hi Mohammad,

    Can you explain the abbreviation "TP".? Can you share an example of your observation by sharing some screenshots?
