Trial Balance runs without error even though financial year not created in Dynamics 365 F&O

Dear Expert,

I ran the Trial Balance for the financial year 2027–2028 in Dynamics 365 F&O. The system calculated the balance and didn’t display any error.
However, the financial year 2027–2028 has not been created in the system.

My understanding, the system should display an error message indicating that the selected financial year doesn’t exist.

    System will not show any error message when running trial balance for the new period which is not created.

    Hi,
    That is standard behaviour in Dynamics. Nothing to worry about.
    The Trial Balance calculates the balance based on the selected dates. It never cares if you choose an open period or a period that never existed.
    If you choose a period for which there are no transactions in the system, you will find the Debit and Credit columns empty (zero).
    The opening and closing balances would be the same in that case, as nothing was added or removed (debit/credit) during that period [because there are no transactions posted in that period].
