Can you manage Account and Contact Affiliations/Memberships

Posted on by 536

Is there a way in out of the box CRM to manage affiliations or membership that accounts/contacts may be long to?  For example if my company is a member of the Design Building Institute of America and I made connections (I guess these could be a lead too) to a contact through this affiliation, is there a way to track it?  Sorry if the question is vague or not clear, I am interpreting the request.

It's a little helpful to know that it can be done.  I think I might need to understand the setup behind it a bit more.  If anyone else has input that would be great.  I could use other options as I am not sure I have this feature turned on for my end users.

    Hi,

You can use track Connections to two records, but not three. You can use Connection Roles to indicate how things are related, and set up reciprocating connection roles, so you could enter "Dr Bob is a Physician for Mike" and it would create the inverse of that relationship "Mike is a Patient of Dr Bob".

You would be able to create a connection of you to the other contact, your company to the contact, or you to the DBIA, but not You, DBIA and the Individual.

You could always create a a custom entity to track if it that type of scenario would be common, then you'd be able to add as many fields as you'd like.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
