Set up For a Reclamation company

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

I am new to Dynamics and need some advice on how to set up the system for a reclamation company,

I will break it down on what we do,

our clients will ask us to take away there old computing equipment:

i.e PC, Monitor, Mice, Keyboards, VIOP telephones etc.

once we have collected the items they have to be processed at our warehouse,

all items go through the process of checking the condition, if it works, item specs etc.(this has to be recorded in some way, Check boxes etc.)

other items process can differ for items such as laptops and PC's need hard drives checked and wiped after which have a certificate is attached to each item.

once the items have been processed, they will get added to stock and then the items will be sold either on Ebay, Amazon or in bulk to another company.

the client will be informed through out the process with reports and updates of their items, such as item has been scraped(not working), condition,

stocked, listed, sold and profit share of sales

my question is can this whole process be managed through Dynamics and can I store each individual item with a unique id so we can track the item

through the process at all stages.

This reclamation process can be managed in Dynamics 365 or Power Apps. You will need to do the following -

    1. Define the reclamation business process - most of which is stated above. Also reporting requirements if any specific reports needed.

    2. Use existing product entity or create new entity to track items. It might be easier to just create custom entity for item

    3. Depending upon the reporting requirements - you can have an item # for each item to track the status of each item - received, in process, scraped, stocked, listed and sold.

    4. It might be easy to use Power Apps and create a custom app to do the above.
