Hi all,
The use of the web address attribute within an activity in Customer Insights is unclear to me. There is no example given on the Microsoft Docs site either:
"Web address: Select the field that represents a URL providing additional information about this activity. For example, the transactional system that sources this activity. This URL can be any field from the data source, or it can be constructed as a new field using a Power Query transformation. This URL data will be stored in the Unified Activity entity, which can be consumed downstream using APIs."
Does this mean that this field can only be used by downstream APIs? What is a possible use case for this, then?
It would, for me at least, be a big improvement if the web address can be used as a hyperlink when clicking the activity card in the timeline in my Customer Insights app. Why isn't this a feature currently in Customer Insights? Anyone else bumped into this issue while implementing Customer Insights for clients?
Thanks in advance!
Hi KennethVR,
Thanks for this questions. You are absolutely correct that this web url will be helpful in connecting the customer's timeline view to the transactional source from where this activity is coming from, and to view additional information on the specific activity.
There are three consumption stories of this field -
2 and 3 are available today. Timeline view in the Customer Insights app is currently undergoing some enhancements and therefore this web url is not displayed in the timeline view yet. We will add this feedback into our backlog.
Thank you!
