Calculating EPS and Shares

Hi all,

Does anyone have prior experience or suggestions for properly calculating Basic EPS, Diluted EPS, Weighted Average Shares - Basic, and Weighted Average Shares - Diluted using the Management Reporter software? My company struggled getting this formulation to work properly in FRx as well. We currently run off of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and are upgrading to 2013 shortly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Amy

EPS = Net Income/Average # of Shares Outstanding.  Honestly, EPS can be calculated in any manner the company wishes, so long as it stands up to investor scrutiny.  Here's a good link to other EPS formulas - www.investopedia.com/.../eps.asp

We do have unit accounts set up. Can you provide an example formula and I can try that?

You would need to utilize Unit Accounts in GP to record the number of shares issued, outstanding, etc., and use those numbers in calculated fields in the report to derive the various EPS values.
