New UI and October 1, 2020

Posted on by 2,645

Hello,

If I am using D365 online, and I am still using the classic UI what happens when October 1, 2020 comes?  Will my environment get automatically upgraded to the new UI?  What else may happen?

Please let me know, thank you.

Can anyone confirm the new date of when the new UI will be forced on all online environments?  Is it still Oct 1, 2020, or did it get moved?

    Hello
The first change is aesthetic, however it is necessary that you work on revising your custom code, since the new interface does not accept deprecated code
If you do not review and correct your code, you may face a large number of problems in different actions and you may be at risk for the continuity of your business if your organization depends on it.

Open "My Apps" from "Settings". Here is what you could see:

I would assume that those as marked as "Web" would be converted to "Unified Interface". Those that are marked as "Unified Interface" would remain as is.

    Hello,

AFAIK because of Covid-19 thing Microsoft pushed transition to UCI further so... potentially January 1, 2021.

What will happen - your classic UI apps would not work anymore.

My recommendation - start to migrate to UCI now, test it carefully and migrate easily and not postpone it till the last moment.
