MS Dynamics Office Add-in: Error refreshing data Details: Incompatible type kinds were found.

Hello, In one of my custom forms, I use "Open in Excel" to edit and publish the content of a form.  I'm receiving the below error when I opened in Excel plugin. 
I even tried to open in the browser. But stil the same error.
It was working fine when I created the entity some time ago. But all of sudden I'm getting this issue. I did not make any changes the tables associated with the entity. 
DMF import/export seems to work fine. I only face issue for this entity; all other custom and native entities are just fine when opened in excel. Can someone help me figure out what's going on?

    It's the Enum Name for one of the fields in the entity DataSource

    I'm glad that your issue is resolved, but I have a question which Enum property do you mean? Enum name? or label?

    I found the root cause of the issue.

    The reason the excel plugin of the entity fails only in the lower environment is due to another entity which is deployed recently.
     
    The public collection name of the older entity conflicts with the meta data of the new entity. In the new entity, one of the fields is an Enum. The Enum property of the new entity and the public collection name of the older entity happened to be same.
     
    So, when an OData call for the older entity is made with the collection name (which is in conflict the new entity's metadata), it failed and returned an error.
     
    Now I changed the Enum property for the field of the entity DataSource. It works fine now.
     
    I think that is why it worked when I changed the collection name earlier.

    I have deleted the entity and refreshed the entity list. But still the same issue persists. I think the DMF is working fine already.
     
    The import/export still works fine. Only the OData requests don't work.

    Try to delete your entity from the entity list (go to Data management), then click on data entities tile, search for your entity and delete it.
    After that refresh the entity list, wait the job until it finishes then try to open Excel Add-ins again.

    No, I did create the new entities using the Add-in available in Visual Studio. I verified all the custom entities in the model; the public collection name is unique.
     
    However, it is possible I may have created the new tables by duplicating an old table. Do you think that may cause any issue?
     
    Also, May be farfetched possibility...another observation in the problem causing entity, there is a field which has an Enum associated with it. I have changed the label description for the Enum. The label id is same; I only changed the description. Although it is not a change that impacts the table/entity directly. This is the closest change that has been done recently for the table.

    Did you copy the new entities from this entity? I mean maybe you by mistake forgot to change the public collection names from the newly created entities

    @Waed Ayyad, Yes I did try clearing usage data too. No luck :-(
     
    I tried to change the public collection name and to something else, it worked. But then I reverted back to the original one as in prod, same issue.

    No, I don't think the deployment of the new entities caused the issue. Did you change anything on the form?
    Did you try to reset usage data?

    Sorry I should have mentioned that earlier. I have refreshed using the same procedure. The batch job is also completed successfully.
     
    As I mentioned, I did deploy few other entities recently to UAT. Do you think that might have cause any issue? However, DMF import/export is working for this entity properly.
