Is it possible for a SO (or multiple SO's) to reserve stock on PO's created after the SO creation date?

E.g.

1 Nov : PO Qty 10
2 Nov: SO Qty 35 (10 reserved from the PO created on 1 Nov)
3 Nov: PO Qty 15

How do can i get the SO to automatically reserve the Qty 15 on the second PO?

You say "...create some process to use new reservation..." - Do you mean develop/customize ? Or is there a standard process that can be run?

Hi James,

Automatic reservation is executed during order / line creation. If your PO was created afterwards, there is no update happening on the reservations. you need to either create some process to use new reservation or wait until the order will get into picking and reserve remaining inventory at that point.

Also the reservation is based on on-hand and not the PO unless you are using ordered reservation.

Thanks for this. I have it set as Automatic, and it works for previous PO's, not future PO's.

I'm looking for how to reserve stock on SO's on prior SO's

Hi James,

Yes, you can achieve it. Please set ‘automatic’ for sales order reservation in AP module.
