Management Reporter - Freeze Column Headers

Posted on by 22,647

Is there a way to freeze the column headers in Management Reporter?

I was asked by a client this afternoon and I did not find a simple solution in the application, so turn to you.

Does anyone know ?

Thanks.

I have posted a Suggestion to Microsoft that this feature be added to the next release ( or at least a future release ) of Management Reporter.  What we need is your vote.  Follow the link

    connect.microsoft.com/.../3101663

and Vote.  Take a copy of the link and send it to others that you work with - get them to vote, the more that vote for this, the more likely it is that Microsoft will attempt to incorporate the suggestion sooner.

    Thanks everyone.

    Hi Bill,

You are correct that this feature does not currently exist in Management Reporter 2012. I confirmed with the product management team that there is a possibility this may be added in a future update as new possible features such as this are being re-evaluated. They did request that you provide feedback to the Microsoft Connect site for this feature and other feature requests.

Before you can create or vote on a suggestion, you must sign up for a free Windows Live account and join the Microsoft Connect site. A step-by-step walkthrough of how to join and use Microsoft Connect can be found at:

    blogs.msdn.com/.../how-to-enter-and-vote-for-management-reporter-suggestions.aspx

The main Microsoft Connect site is:

    connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions

If you do submit a suggestion, please be sure to post the link here so others may vote on it as well. Also be sure to provide the link to your colleagues so they can vote on it if they would like to see the feature included.

In the meantime, you can use a workaround of exporting the report to Excel and using the built-in Excel features to freeze the column headings, or use the Report Viewer client as the column headings will repeat on each page output.

    Thanks!
