Posted on by 32
Hi Everyone

Is it possible to change the webserver hostname (My BC Application server) post installation without it affecting any current configuration that was done?
Thank You!

I agree with Inge, after changing the webserver hostname, it is recommended to create a new instance.
If it is not re-created, the original Web Service and API Endpoint may become unavailable. This is just one of the effects.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

Do you mean that you want to add another service layer or simply change the name of the service layer?
If you change the name all users and possible integration job will have to change their connection to the new name.
So it might be smarter to add an extra service tier and then remove the other one when you are sure all users are using the new instance.
