Hi all,
I am trying to update thousands of records for contacts in our CRM system using Excel Online. Just trying to purely update Surnames that are all capitals to read correctly. Having completed the export and re-import it is showing as completed and successful, but hasn't changed any of the records.
Does anyone know whether there are restrictions on the amendment of contacts? or whether anyone can help?

Hi,
I have just had a play around with this and I get the same result so there must be some restriction or business rule preventing this. However, I have found a work-around for you.
(1) Create a new text field at Contact level.
(2) Import your updated surnames into the new field
(3) Create an on demand workflow using the update record step to copy the data from your new field into the Contact LastName field.
(4) Run the workflow against your group.
