I am having the following challenge: We need to bring existing word templates, that were used for mail merging in an onprem version of dynamics in the cloud version, where they shall not be used as mail merging templates (I am aware, that thie functionality does no longer exist in the cloud) but as templates for single records. The problem is, that the templates include various if-functions, that control whether or not a field is shown or which of the content of two different fields needs to be included in the template depending on certain conditions defined in the if-functions.
I couldnt figure out how to make this work in the word templates in the cloud. Has anybody an idea to help besides add-ins like documents corepack? I also already tried this workaround: https://crmtipoftheday.com/716/conditional-values-in-word-templates/ ... and didnt succeed with it.
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers
Hi,
There is currently no OOTB method to achieve the if-control.
Here is a tutorial about how to achieve the if-control with Flow.
Make your Dynamics templates shine with Microsoft Flow | Empired
Or you can seek further help from some third party Word add-ons.
Hi Sebastian,
The only way I'm aware of that you can use if statements is to either do so as custom controls, or use a Flow. I will leave it open to anyone else that might know another way.
