Saving Quick Query results to Excel changes the formatting

Posted on by 405

We have set up some Quick Queries for managers to view timecard statuses. The base view formats dates as a 'Date' and Hours as 'Numeric'. This displays correctly in both Client Quick View and Web Apps Quick View but when the user uses the copy function to export the results to a spread sheet the following occurs:

  • Web Apps
    • numbers are displayed as strings
    • dates get the time and UTC difference appended to them
  • Client
    • Numbers are displayed as Text
    • Dates are correctly displayed without the appended time and UTC

Does anyone know any settings or ways to prevent the formatting changes from occurring?
