Consolidated Cash Flow Statement with Row Modifier

(0) ShareShare

Hello All,

I'm currently working on a consolidated cash flow statement and running into an issue with the row modifier. When I created my non-consolidated cash flow statement, I used the row modifier to bring in the beginning balance for cash and that method worked perfectly.

When I tried this method with two financial dimension sets for my consolidation, (one for the parent and one for the subsidiary), the row modifier only changed the first financial dimension.  The second financial dimension set ignored the row modifier and brought in the column definition.

Does anybody know why the row modifier won't affect 2nd financial dimension?

Regards.

    Dan,

Also, what happens when you switch the "Calculation priority" on the Settings tab of your Report Def?

    Sincerely,

    Dan,

I've only used multiple "Link to Financial Dimension" columns in the Row Def to link to an External Worksheet a year-and-a-half ago, so I'm afraid that I'm going to be SWAGging here...

Column K in the Row Def has the additional label "PartSimple Cash Flow". What is it you're linking to? What have you defined in the Row Links dialog box?

Based on that picture of your Column Def, you're using the Reporting Tree Def to restrict the Reporting Units in those first two columns. It would be helpful to know what's in the Tree Def, too.

Does the "Cash End of Period" row 160 come out as you expect with that /Y Account Modifier?

What are you expecting to see in your report output? I think to help me help you, I could use a description and a sample of what you want to see.

    Sorry for the late reply.

    Sincerely,

    Steve,

I hope this helps visualize what I am currently doing.

The issue I have having is occurring on row code 111, cash beginning of period.  The account modifier is changing that row to look at the beginning balance for the first "link to financial dimensions" column which is represented by column B on the row definition.

The problem is the row modifier isn't changing the second "link to financial dimensions" column (column C in the column definition).  Instead of pulling in the beginning balance like the row modifier says it should, it pulls in the periodic amount defined in the column definition.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Dkozuchowski,

I don't know about the others here, but I'm having a hard time picturing this. Would you mind posting screen captures of your Row Def and Column Def?

    Sincerely,
