I am using Business Central OnCloud version 26.0. I am trying to add test runner and library assert dependencies in app.json but after that I am unable to download symbols. I also looked in the extension management but there are no extensions for test runner or library assert. I tried changing the version in the app.json for both the dependencies but it didn't work. I have to perform automation testing using AL test tool but I am unable to do that because this issue. Kindly help.

As far as I know, Automated Testing does not fully support the Cloud (SaaS) version yet, only supported in Docker, but Microsoft will support it in future versions.

Hopefully other experts can give you better advice.
    Thanks

    Hi @YUN ZHU,

    Thankyou for the response.

I deleted the two dependencies and was able to download symbols. But how can I now use these dependencies for automated testing?

    Thanks,
    Regards,

Hi, Try deleting two extension info from Dependencies and see if you can download it.
As far as I know, the extensions you added does not exist in SaaS Sandbox yet.

    Thanks.

    Hi @Sohail Ahmed,

Thankyou for responding to the query.

There is not extension marketplace option in extension management. Kindly provide another way or give me the exact JSON.

    Thanks,

Maybe this will help you fix it.

In BC Online (v26.0), the test libraries (Test Runner, Library Assert, etc.) are available but not installed by default in your environment. That’s why you're unable to download symbols for them.

    What to do:

    1. Go to Extension Management in BC.

    2. Click Manage > Extension Marketplace.

    3. Search for and install the following:

    Test Runner

    Library Assert

Any other required test libraries (e.g., Library Variable Storage)

Once installed, you should be able to:

    Add the dependencies in app.json

    Download symbols

    Use the AL Test Tool

Let me know if you want the exact app.json dependency format.
