Hi community!
I hope anyone can help. I am trying to import recurring appointment records into Dynamics 365 but I am retrieving a very generic error message which says "Error {1}{0}", "an unexpected error occured" Error code: -2.147.220.970
Does anyone had the same issue before or has a clue what might be the problem? I could share my import template if needed.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Hi Linn,
populating these 2 field worked! :) I had a record where I fixed the recurring pattern invalid error before. I entered data in the 2 fields and the import was successful :)
Thanks so much for your help!
I learnt a bit of German while translating the import template.
For your import file, the generic error occurs because of the missing data in Pattern Start Time and Pattern End Type (columns F & G)
If you populate that data, you will get the same "The recurrence pattern is not valid" error.
I do not think we can use the Data Import Wizard to import a recurring appointment. You may want to raise a support ticket with Microsoft to get a definitive answer if that requirement is important to your business and there is no workaround solution.
Import-template-recurring-appointments.xlsxHi Linn,
yes required an optional attendee are of field type 'party list', so you can pick multiple. I didn't know that before either. Removing these 2 fields as well as the 4 custom fields resulted in the same error. Pls find attached the import template.
regards
Richard
I am still getting a "The recurrence pattern is not valid" error even when I created the import template with the list of oob fields that you mentioned.
Just wondering if the requiredattendees, optionalattendees in your import template are just one value of lookup or multiple lookup values?
Can you remove the 4 customs fields from your import template file and try to import the OOB fields to see if it is showing generic error message? If so, please remove the 4 customs fields, just leave only 1 line of data, remove the sensitive data and share your sample upload file with us to try it on my environment?
Hi Linn,
pls find below the list of oob fields I have in my Import file. Apart from that I have 4 customs fields.

Hi Linn,
yes I got this error already as well. But I was able to resovle that by changing the recurrance pattern. After that I got the above error.
Yes, I will supply a list of the columns I try to import. Will post a bit later, cause I need to check the englisch names, since my environment is in German.
Fun fact: If I try to import a record which I successfully created via the model driven app, I get the same recurrance pattern error..
For me, I get the following error when I tried to upload the recurring appointment "The recurrence pattern is not valid. Select a valid recurrence pattern."
Will you be able to list down the columns that are included in your import template?
Hi Hao,
thanks for your suggestion. Import via Internet Explorer unfortunately didn't do the trick and resulted in the same error.
Hi Linn,
thanks for your comment. I have checked Plugins with Plugin registration tool in XRMToolBox. There are plugin steps from Resource scheduling and Playbook on the appointment Entity. I can't see / check the recurring appointment entity though.
Hi Richard,
Try to clear the browser cache and import it on Internet Explorer.
