Is it possible to change the existing number series inside an article?

Are you asking if you can change an Item No. on an Item.

If that is your question then the answer is yes.

You can just type the new item no. over the old one.

If you want to change the next item no. that is assigned that can be done in the no. series. by setting last used no.

What should I do, if I want do adapt all numbers in the live system? Is it possible?

With Excel/Config. Pack. there is the only possibility to delete the old item and create the "same" as new one

You only can delete the item if it has no transactions. Otherwise as Inge mentioned you can change the Item No.

If you want to change the item numbers for all the items in your system you should work with your partner to have them help you do that in code to make that process safe and efficient.

Hi, It looks like you want to change the Number of existing Master data.

As you know, this is not possible with Configuration Package, when you change Number, it will be added to BC as a new record.

So, I agree with Inge that you should contact your partner and ask them to develop a small tool to handle this in batches.
