InvalidPluginExecutionException custom messages are not displayed on Business Process Error pop-up

Hi since a couple of days all of our plugin execution custom messages (thrown by InvalidPluginExecutionException) are not displayed on the pop-up error form anymore. To see the error message you need to download the associated log file which is unacceptable from a user experience perspective.

This pattern for sending feedback to the user have been working for years and it would be a major problem for us to refactor all of our code bases.

Does anyone else have the same issue?

    Hi David,

    May I know the triggering action of your Plugin? If you put your source code sample it will be easier to investigate.

    Hi Badrinath,

    To make my tests and to prove the problem I have made the simplest plugin possible.

    Message : Create

    Entity : Contact

    Stage : Pre-Operation

    Code only throws an InvalidPLuginExecutionException with a custom message.

    (So it throws whenever I create a contact)

    Hi David, Could you please include try catch to your plugin. I am able to see the custom messages in my end.

    catch (Exception ex)

               {

                   //display a friendly message to the user.

                   var evt = Logger.LogException(context, serviceFactory, ex, GetType(), tracingService);

                   throw new InvalidPluginExecutionException(Logger.FormatMessage(evt, true), ex);

               }

    Hi David,

    What's the build version of your CRM system.

    Version 1710 (9.1.0.630) online

    Okay, I have a different version (Version 1710 (9.1.0.294) online) so it is very likely that this is introduced in the particular version.
