I want to add a field as a filter in the UI Builder of the system SSRS report. Behind this report is the RDP class which uses the query. this query is attached by SRSReportQueryAttribute. I want to add a field in the ranges of this query so the user can filter the report by this field as well. I create a query extension and add my field. but the changes are not shown in the filter section. Do I miss a step?
Hi
I would suggest resetting user usage data before doing any further steps. If you run the report before, query data is stored in SysLast values and restored each time when you run it again.
Dear Sergey,
Thank you for your advice.
The point is RDP class is in the system model and the query extension is in our model. How RDP class detects the query extension?
Hi Nastaran
I don't know in detail how query extension works, but for RDP class (and other objects in the system) query object should already contain all extension changes created for this query. So if your question, should you change something in RDP class to track new extension for the query, the answer is no.
BR, Sergei
The Extension in Query, work as all other extension. But question is how you add field range in it. One way is to restrict by added range in AOT query itself. Other way to apply range is in RDP class. For this either you have to extend the class and overwrite or extend Process report method. Possible there is problem in pre or post event or overwrite the Report process method in extended RDP class.
Dear @Ali Reza
I have added a field to the range in query extension, but the range has not been shown in the UI builder of the report. i.e. the records to include section filter
Hi Nastaran,
I think you add query range in query extension , then you may have multiple sets of dynamic parameters, and dynamic parameters will automatically create scopes.
So, My personal suggestion is that you can try using static parameters via contract class.
Thank you Blue Wang.
Did you know why I could not see my new field which is added to the query in ranges? I could not understand this statement: "dynamic parameters will automatically create scopes."
Sorry, my statement is incomplete.
When you talk about using query extension in RDP class, I guess you might want to set the range in the query through dynamic parameters.

like above we can do it i guess.. Please place the code here if possible. If query related logic in separte method i think we may achieve.
Dears I have provided an example which helps you to understand my problem.
Assume there is the ssrs report in Application suits which uses RDP class. the RDP class is defined as follows:
[ SRSReportQueryAttribute (querystr(InventoryDetails)), SRSReportParameterAttribute(classstr(InventoryDetailsContract)) ] class InventoryDetailsDp extends SrsReportDataProviderPreProcessTempDB { .... }
The InventoryDetails query uses for the dynamics parameters which its range is located as presented in the following pictures:
I want to add the new fields to the range of the InventoryDetails query. I have added the fields to the query extension. But I can not see those fields in the UI builder filter section which shows in the above picture.
