Use of this ole object icon in GP2015

Hi,

I can find OLE Object icon on attachment. I upgraded GP from GP 2013 to GP205 R2, even I can find this icon but not able to view the attachment. I can find blank screen as shown in picture. Do I have to migrate old ole notes to GP 2015 to view the old ole notes in OLE Object icon, or can we used this OLE Object to view the old ole notes without migrating to new functionality. Once we migrate the ole notes to new GP2015 document attachment functionality I can view my old ole notes directly from this new document attachment window. then what is the use of OLE object.

My requirement is - I want to keep the old ole notes as it as and user should be able to view only. User should use new attachment functionality for any new document attachment. How it can be done, what is the setup for this.
