POS 2009 Z-Report values are incorrect.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have a client that has POS 2009.  Twice now in the past year the Z-Report Item Sales are not equally the Department breakdown...  These should equal.

Also they dont have any voids or returns for the day.

Item Sales = 3988.82

Department Breakdown = 4053.26

The correct value is the 4053.26

Has anyone seen this before? if so how did you fix it.

Its like the batch table is not updated correctly during some sales.

This was happening at my customer because the station was locking up while posting a sale.

The sale was being recorded to the [transaction] table but was not being added to [batch] table totals.

This was because the Ingenico customer facing device was not allowing the sale to complete.  Basically the transaction was being saved prior to the total being sent to the ingenico device.  The ingenico device was freezing some times.  Then the station was locked.  At this point the cashier was rebooting the station.

So I basically went in and deleted those transactions from the database and all was fixed for reports.

The customer has since stopped using all the ingenico devices.

I just ran into this today, too. I'd love to know what's going on.
