Is there any way to inactivate customers?

Is there any way to inactivate customers in Financials? A checkbox? A better way to sync? A better way to enter data in CRM? An alternate view?

I am syncing from O365 CRM and even though they are inactive in CRM, they are still syncing to financials.

What can I do?

We have over 4000 inactive customers that are clogging up our Financials Customer view and it's driving us nuts.

Cloud version, Dynamics O365, Financials, US, using Chrome, tried Edge; can find no way to inactivate.

    Hi Xine

In Financials you can "inactivate" customers by setting Blocked property to All. This will not allow users to create transactions for such "inactive" customers.

Next thing you can do is filter out such blocked customers and delete them from Financials if they don't have transactions. Simple open customer list filter on blocked customer and click Edit in Excel. There you'll be able to do bulk delete.

How are you synching customers with O365? Using Full Synchronization?

In Connection Setup click on Integration Tables Mapping and check filter that is set on Integration Table Filter field for CUSTOMER Integration Table Mapping. It should have Status set to Active.

Rather than using Full Synchronization (if that's what you're using) click on Synchronize Modified Records while positioned on CUSTOMER Integration Table Mapping row.

    Hi Ivan,

Thank you for the response. Blocking customers and editing in excel is going to take a large effort on our part as we have thousands of customers to go through. I was hoping that simply having the connection setup filter on ACTIVE customers would be logical enough to filter out the INACTIVE customers from CRM.

Isn't that what a filter technically does? Filters on the parameters set?

I will mark this as answered and I do thank you for the help. I just don't understand why the filter wouldn't filter out everything that is not marked as ACTIVE, and why I would need to do it in this manual and cumbersome way. I am hoping in the future that filtering on active actually only brings in ACTIVE Accounts/Customers and Contacts.

    Hi Christine,

Yes that's what filter is supposed to do. However if you ran Full Synchronization it actually ignores such filter and takes all from one and all from another system. Better approach is to run Synchronize Modified Records in Integration Table Mappings page as this one will always respect filters set in Integration Table Mappings.

However, to do this properly you'd need Synch. Modified On Filter column which is not available now (we'll add it in upcoming updates)

    Good Morning,

Apologies for jumping onto an old post but I am looking for a way to simply set the customer card as inactive, I am probably being blind but I cannot for the life of me see the field for this.
