Hi guys,

Hope all is well.

I have a serious issue with an upcoming update.

Here is the story.

Because of a blackout in Microsoft data center the auto scheduled update for 10.0.38 was canceled first in our UAT and afterwards in our Production environment.

Since then, we have deployed multiple customization packages in our UAT environment, and we have also updated the version of the UAT to 10.0.38.

As of now we have 10.0.37 in Production and 10.0.38 in UAT.

As you can understand now if i want to move a release candidate package this will also include the platform version of the UAT because of the image-based deployment.

Here is my problem and the situation in the UAT.

Release 44 deployed in UAT and Prod

PQU of 10.0.37 - deployed in UAT and Prod

Release 48 deployed in UAT, but not in Prod

Service update 10.0.38 deployed in UAT,but not in Prod

PQU if 10.0.38 deployed in UAT,but not in Prod

Release 50 deployed in UAT, but not in Prod.

Now it has been decided that the latest release 50 won't be deployed in production or at least not with all of the change sets that are part of it.

I have paused the 10.0.39 (first wave), but i need to update the production environment with 10.0.38 without bringing any custom code to the production environment.

Is there any way that i can achieve this goal?

Also, is it possible to simply somehow remove the last 2 package deployments from the UAT so we can have an environment that is mirroring the production as it is now except the platform version?

Appreciate your feedback and assistance on this issue.

In UAT (Or another Sandbox on 10.0.38), you need to deploy the package the package (Release 44?) which is currently in Production.

Deploy over the top of your Release 50.

Then you have a sandbox with Release 44 + PQU 10.0.38, which is your desired Production end state.

Update Production from Sandbox.

Don't forget to test and get sign off first.

Hi,

You can install 10.0.38 on your production environment without adding the new customizations.

It is not possible to roll back installed packages from your UAT environment. It is possible to install Release 44 again on your UAT, but there is a small risk of having some issues in case you also had database update scripts in place as part of Release 48 or 50.

In case in the end your UAT environment is not working correctly anymore, you can consider deleting this environment and building it from scratch matching your production versions. You can then also refresh the production data into your UAT.
