Six invoices were entered with a 10% holdback which resulted in different amounts being posted to the sub ledger and the AP GL. They were unable to void the invoices due to holdbacks. The client entered a credit note to offset. Now there is difference remaining between the sub ledger and the GL for the holdback amount. (Please see the client’s mail below with the details)
Please advise on how she can correct this transaction to match.
The customer said "To create the holdbacks for those PO’s I used both the GP functionality (setting up the 10% holdback on the job) as well as manually entering a difference for the “quantity shipped” and “quantity invoiced. The reason for that is because I was not aware that the holdback was going to be automatically applied. When I looked at the edit listing for the PO’s it did not show any holdback amount allocated to accrued liabilities. Because of this I thought that I would need to manually enter the difference to create the holdback in accrued liabilities. When I posted the PO’s I realized that it automatically took another 10% holdback, therefore resulting in the incorrect invoice amount."
