SDT: Support Debugger Tool Company Colors

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have installed the Support Debugging Tool for GP 2010 for a client.  They have several workstations and a terminal server.  I installed the tool on all workstations and the term server.  If I login to the term server, I can see the different colors for windows, etc. in each company.  If any users login to the terminal server, they see the colors.  No colors are seen by the users on their workstations.  Do I need to do anything at all special on the workstations to get the users to see the colors of each company?

I had the VBA code installed in their previous version 9 (just upgraded them to 2010) and it worked perfectly on all machines with no major setup beyond the install.

Any advice is appreciated!

    Hi

Sounds like you have not set up the Recommended Configuration.

The Support Debugging Tool uses a debugger.xml file to store its settings. As documented in the manual, you should set up all machines to point to a shared location for this file so that settings are system wide, and don't have to be changed on a per workstation basis.

The Recommended Configuration only needs to be set up once for it to automatically roll out to all workstations. See the PDF User Guide for step by step instructions.
