Hallo!

I have in my chart of accounts, accounts corresponding to assets, more precisly, inventory accounts which have a positive balance. I would like to know where this balance comes from, so when I open the balance for the account, I filter to open=yes but nothing comes up, is like if they were all closed. I have done that in other accounts from income statement and it works, I guess thats because the account type is balance sheet (inventory) and our method average so is no possible to track where the items come from , nevertheless you know if there is way to see where the balance in that inventory account comes from? As I fear is incorrect. How can I double check that with the program?

Go to relevant account and open it's ledger entries. Then clear all the filters applied, once that is done you will see all the entries posted to that specific chart of account. Then one by one you can apply filters and see which filter affect the result you expecting.

All financial data comes from G/L Entry. Inventory data from Item Ledger entry. Any other from respective Ledger entries.

Access the Ledger Entry remove all filters and apply one by one to confirm if data is getting filtered as per your requirement and result matches as you expect.

Check in the Item Ledger entry ,Value Entry and G/L Entry tables for the same.
