Payables Rebuild PM_Keys

Posted on by 230

Currently working with Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 and getting an error message when rebuilding the PM_Keys file.

When doing the Check Links process on the Payables History Logical and Payables Transaction Logical I received this error message:

Microsoft SQL Native client SQL Server violation of PRIMARY Key constraint 'PKPM30200' Cannot insert duplicate key in object dbo.PM30200'

Any suggestions on how to go about correcting?

Regards,

Kevin

    Hi Leslie,

Thanks for getting back to me.  Yesterday I reran the Check Links, but this time I did it for Payables History Logical and Payables Transaction Logical one at a time, not together.  Didn't receive the error message when doing it like that.  I have also done a reconcile of the Accounts Payable as well.

Here is the original error message that the client was getting when applying payments to open invoices.

    Unhandled database exception:

A save operation on tabel'PM_Distribution_HIST' has created a duplicate key.

I did use the script for the duplicate PM documents from this link.  This helped identify the duplicate records in the PM20000 and PM30200.

    Thanks again,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

Ok, that's the paid transaction history file. I've found the error message is always right when it comes to a duplicate key error. Did you delete all of the records in your PM00400 before you started the checklinks utility? The key referred to contains the voucher number and the document type. I would check my other PM transaction tables for something with a matching key. What prompted you to rebuild you PM index file to begin with?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
