Purchases received but not invoiced

Dear All,

While doing some clean up on past PO, where we wanted to delete unused PO

We had discovered some PO unable to delete due to the PO had receiving done but not invoiced

These PO are from drop shipment, hence it is linked to a Posted SO that had been cancelled.

I am unable to do undo receipt where it will show error that it is linked to a SO.

  1. What should be the proper steps to resolve this?
  2. If we leave these PO in the system, is there any financial impact? Or where does all these received goods sit in?

impact on the the financials depends on whether you have expected cost posting to the G/L. The dropship part makes it not possible to use the "undo" features on the receipt or shipment. I would add a new line to the sales order for the same item but with a minus quantity that uses a dropshipment purchasing code. Post this so that the SO is equalling 0 and then properly cancelled. You will then have 2 purchases orders - 1 for each SO line. Add a line on each which results in the value being 0. Post both of them.

Long winded but this is to stop you having to do a development to clear the dropshipment fields. Which might not work guaranteed.

    Dear Josh,

    Thanks for the reply.

    Few challenge here

    1. For drop shipment, it auto receipt when we ship and post the Sales Order, hence we can't modify the sales order as it had been posted.

    2. The posted sales invoice had been cancelled.

Thus, leave these un posted and received PO in the system.

So the only option is to post the purchase order? and create a purchase credit memo?
