Total spend by client - calculated to a YTD spend

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi

We need to create a field that will highlight client YTD spend. I am creating new fields to highlight the budgeted spend for each client per month (12 new fields, one for each month of the year). These fields will be populated at the beginning of the year, with the forecasted spend for that client for each month.

With the YTD spend field we want this to be calculated automatically using the monthly fields. For example, being in April, the YTD field will have calculated together the spend values against Jan, Feb, March and April and the YTD field will show that figure. The YTD calculated field will need to run again at the beginning of the next month (May), and then the YTD figure will be Jan + Feb + March + April + May. This process will continue for the entire year. So the YTD spend will increase each month, using the values in the monthly fields, to indicate the YTD spend for each client.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks

Jess

I haven't set any of it up yet, so however it is easiest to compute YTD we can do - whether that is through a calculated field, JS or WF.

    thanks
