Customize Estimation and aditional Custom Fields

Posted on by 50

Hi,

I would like to understand how i can customize project estimation task, expense & material estimations. Which is the approach to do this, what are pros and cons?

1. Project Task Estimation. I need to recalculate cost based on custom columns in the task, should use CalculatePrice message in the Quote for this?

2. How i can manage custom calculations on materials & expenses? i want to reflect custom data in project is possible?

3. I see a list of custom messages inspecting the plugins but i cannot found documentation about them or what they actually do or what i can do. A few links. The basic info in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/project-management/schedule-api-preview any link explaning other messages, usage, common customizations??

Thanks

RE: Customize Estimation and aditional Custom Fields

    Hi Pablo,

I recommend that you first understand how this is calculated in standard before you try to change these calculations. Standard is very flexible and allows you to set up your costing pricing dimensions as per most requirements.

You can read more here: docs.microsoft.com/.../pricing-dimensions-overview.

    Kind regards,

    Matthew
