Copying Posted Journal Lines Error

Greetings to all of you!

In order to correct mistakes on entries , we are using the standard functionality which is included on the Posted General Journal page.

We casually select the lines that we need and then we navigate through the Copy selected lines to journal action.

However, i have noticed that when i change the posting date of the entries , the document date wont update automatically. Due to that , the created lines have a document date.( Check below )

I will change the Posting Date to be 20/2 instead of 18/2.

The created lines will be incosinsent when it comes to Posting and Document Date. Due to that, they will also cause an error and the users are forced to manually correct them.

I strongly believe that i am missing something. How can tell the system to update the document date while creating the new lines?

Hi,

Please check if General Ledger Setup limits the posting period like below.

Thanks for the response but unfortunately , this is not the reason why the document date is not getting updated...

Hi,

You cannot change the document date using copy selected lines from general journal action present in posted general journal page.

So you can try any one from the below suggestions to making document date and posting date correct.

1. Either you change the document date manually while using this feature.

2. Reverse the incorrect entries by checking the reverse sign in copy selected lines from general journal. Post it and then posted the correct data with correct dates.

3. Go for the customization
