Getting signed-in User's information when editing Entity Form

Posted on by

I have an editable entity form on my portal and I am trying to create a workflow so that when the current signed-in User submits changes to the form, an email is sent. I am trying to identify the portal User in my workflow, however, when one of the entity form fields are changed, the Audit History/Modified By fields for that record shows that 'SYSTEM' has made the change, not the signed-in User in the portal. Is there a way to grab the information of the signed-in user when they edit an entity form?

Audit Log: 'Changed By' field shows SYSTEM when it should be the the signed-in User.

That's unfortunate to hear. Is there any way to figure out who changed field values in my Portal using Liquid, Javascript, or any other function in Dynamics 365 or Portal settings other than checking the audit log?

    Hi Daniel,

The audit log only shows the CRM user who made the update. Any update to a record in CRM can be logged to a system user - either the person who was logged in to the CRM, or when it's the result of some other action, SYSTEM is the user of record. Sorry, unfortunately you can't tie a portal user to the audit log.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
