Grouping items in planned purchase orders

Posted on by 5

I work with several vendors and in the matter of 2 weeks, some of them can have hundreds of planned purchase orders.  Many of these are for the same item number which I have to go through and group so there is only one single line for each item number.  Right now, I am going line by line and grouping each item individually.  Is there a way to group every single same item at once, or am I stuck having to go through each one?  This is a big time waste, as it takes me a few hours each time to sort through the hundreds of items before I can even begin the buying process.

It sounds like the coverage group you are using is of type requirement , change to a coverage group of type period and give 2 weeks of coverage.

    Hi

To me, it feels like you should be trying to get Master scheduling to create fewer planned orders with a larger quantity. Have you thought to investigate getting the Planned orders created as you would like to re-order, rather than fighting with them after they have been created?

In my planned purchase order form that I am using right now to identify which items to purchase, there are over 500 lines.  Many items have 3 lines for the same item, but planned to be purchased at different dates.  In order to keep up with lead times, I have to look out several weeks and it pulls multiple planned orders for the same items.  Is there a way to group all of the same ones at once instead of item by item?

    Hi,

What  do you mean by grouping item? MS has recently added one feature in 10.0.13 for grouping feature, are you looking for that
