SQL Server password in locally deployed D365 for Operations environment

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I downloaded a D365 for Operations VM from LCS and is running it in Hyper V without any issue. However, it seems I could not access the database since I could not find the password in LCS. You usually can find the password for all the domain accounts in LCS for cloud deployed environment. But since my environment is locally deployed, it doesn't show in LCS, and I'm not sure where to find those passwords.

Have anyone had this issue before and what the solution might be?

Thanks so much.

    Hi,

Please try to decrypt your password. The link is a few posts above.

    Hi,

    How are you guys

It's an old thread but it felt relevant.

It seems that the axdbadmin password for the latest VM of d365 F&O is not AosWebSite@123, Anyone happen to know the latest passward? 10..25 onwards,

I tried connecting Power BI as well as tried connecting SSMS but couldn't get through.

I changed the axdbadmin password to AosWebSite@123 but now the environment link is not working. In event viewer it says login failed ....

Can any one help me with

    • what is the new default password?
    • How to point environment to the new password?

Last resort would be to provision a new dev environment though.

That should be easy. Please check this link for the steps to increase VHD size.

Increasing size of a virtual hard disk is possible - see this, for example.

But note it's not related to SQL Server password in locally deployed D365 for Operations environment. Please create a new thread if you have a question about something else than what  the current thread is about.

    Hello Gunjan,

    Thank you, that helped me.

Is it possible to enlarge the VHD?

When trying to import a database from a test environment, I lack the space to do it properly.

By default, the LCS VHD is about 128GB.

You can try running SQL Server Management Studio as an admin and check you can log in using Administrator credentials. You can check this thread as well to decrypt the passwords.

    Hello,

I have already logged into the database using login: axdbadmin and password: AOSWebSite@123.

But after running "AdminUserProvisioning" and setting up the new admin, I cannot log in to the database in any way....

Does anyone know what credentials the system expects?

anyone like to use Maintainance Mode the following would be the command ( mind password and drive )

C:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Bin\Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Deployment.Setup.exe --metadatadir C:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory --bindir C:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\Bin --sqlserver . --sqldatabase axdb --sqluser axdbadmin --sqlpwd AOSWebSite@123 --setupmode maintenancemode --isinmaintenancemode true
