Deployment failed from LCS

Posted on by 501

Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue while deploying packages from LCS in DevTest VM. The same packages are deploying fine on UAT.

Deployment failed everytime on Preparation step. And when I download the logs, 0 KB file downloaded and nothing shown in that file.

    Issue resolved.

I was applying service update to Dev environment.

I had not enough space in my C drive which was blocking the preparation of package.

So I cleared up sufficient space on C drive then preparation package did not fail in my case.

    Thanks.

    Hi Shahrukh,

To resolve the issue, I have restarted the environment and redeployed the application package.

    The issue was resolved.

You must never change the password of admin account. It must be kept same as it is shown on LCS. As package installer takes the password from LCS to login to the VM for deployment. If you have changed the password then it will not be able to login to the VM and will be failed without giving any error logs.

Maybe you do not have space on the disk. Please check.

Usually when space is missing you do not get any meaningful error.

Have you happened to change the password of the local administrator of the VM?

    Hi  Andre,

Yes all application were shutdown at the time of deployment, and even I restarted the machine before starting deployment.

    Hi Ada,

Yes, this happened when I selected the package and applied it. It went in progress and then after some time it given error that Preparation Failed.

Runbook is not generated. And i checked the logs in VM, nothing appeared in the execution log.

    Hi Shahrukh,

Were all applications and above all was Visual Studio shut down during the deployment? Ensure all running applications are shut down before starting the deployment.
