Synchronizing data between companies

Hi all,

Right now we're updating our (ancient) AX 4.0 to Business Central and CRM
Our company consists of multiple business units and for every business unit we're setting up an other company in BC.

Although they are different Business units they sell the same products en do business with the same clients.
Therefore we would like to make one company leading in clients and items and synchonize the items and clients with the other companies.

I know it is possible to synchronize between CRM and BC but is this also possible between BC companies?

Thanks,
Paul

No, this is not possible out of the box. There are however add-on's that have this functionality, or you might want to implement it yourself in AL or using Flow. Although it is not that easy and straightforward as you might expect...

Thank you for your answer, Steven.

Although it's not what I hoped for ;-)

Can you point me in the direction of the add-on's that provide this functionality?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I typically worked with custom developed solutions, not add-ons, but I know they are out there.

But before you look at them, also have a look here:

    • sync Chart of Accounts, Vendors, and Customers between multiple Business Central companies

It might be something that Microsoft might develop soon...

And there's some extra info in the comments of the idea.

    Hi Paul-W,

This is the way I would recommend to move further that .

    1. Create a Company with all the masters and setup in place.

    2. Copy and replicate the companies and rename the companies as per BU.

    3. Create a Company (Parent) which will contain all the consolidation of all G/L.

In order to synchronize different CRM BUs with BC, you can use WebServices which are unique to each companies.

Let me know if you need further help.
