Annotations and Arrows shift slightly

Posted on by 30

I have installed the Remote Assist app on my IPad Pro 12.90" (2018) and signed in with a test license. I observe a slide shift of annotations and arrows when moving my IPad around. I assume that Microsoft HoloLens will give a better result with its better spatial resolution and recognition but nevertheless would like to ask:

  • is there any definition what shift can be expected / must be expected when using non-Microsoft devices?
  • are there any recommendations / best practice to improve spatial recognition of non-Microsoft devices i.e. what impacts the shift?

At this point in time, shift is quickly in the range of an inch or two, making the app less practical than expected...

Thanks for feedback
Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for reaching out. The recommendation would be to make sure that you fully scan the plane on which you will be making annotations. Also, we have an upcoming update which will further stabilize annotations.

    Thanks,

    Sheri
