I'm using Dynamics SL 2011 and I recently migrated my database to a SQL 2012 server from a 2008 server. When I connect to the database in the Database Maintenance utility, it gives me the error

"Error -3: Alter failed for Server 'SERVER\NAME'."

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Also, please make sure you install the prerequisites first before installing the hot-fix. Otherwise, it won't fix the issue.

Hi Nathan,

If you are using SL 2011 SP1, you need to apply the hot-fix for bug 23705 to make SL compatible with SQL Server 2012. You can find the hot-fix in KB article 2697847. Here is the link: mbs.microsoft.com/.../KBDisplay.aspx

when you upgrade, do you same server, or different server (physically)?
