For income tax purposes it is necessary to have sales broken down by state for allocation purposes. Is there a GP report for this?

Out of the box - no. But you can derive this info from SmartList relatively easily using the Sales Transactions SmartList. You could also do the same thing using Excel Reports or create a report in Crystal or SSRS.
