Unexpected record creation

Hi All,

There are large number(10k+) records getting created unexpectedly in our PROD instance,and we are trying to investigate how and why this is happening.

Entity is PhoneCall, OLD records are getting duplicated and for some users.

What are the fields we can look for in record and to find how this is happening? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    what about auditing of entity, you can check the log.

    - Check

          - System jobs

          - Workflows , Plugins etc. on the Entity

          - Record creation and update rules

    Thanks, and sorry for late reply.

    I checked the records for fields you have mentioned but its showing all created by user it self. And CreatedOnBehalfOf is also blank.

    This is happening randomly but it happened again this month.

    One more thing - Actual End is showing less than Created On for all the records, it is possible to create record like that?

    No we did not have any MS Flow related to Phone call entity.

    Could you please check Microsoft Flow, might be is there any flow created.

    Do you have Server Side Sync enabled by any chance? After the April Update went live for us this weekend, we're seeing newly Completed phone calls becoming re-opened. Scary if it's going back and doing this for historic records as well...

    Hi

    Its more likely its being created by some integration task or plugins/workflow that could create in bulk

    I would check CreatedOn, ModifiedOn, CreatedBy and Modified By fields.  Use advance find to query records created today or yesterday and narrow down the record set and identify the pattern

    If the numbers are more than 5k, you can use download advance find FETCH XML and run the query on XrmToolBox plugin FetchXML / View Record Counter.
