Grouping only type item, item number on sales order

Ok previously on sales lines the customer wanted to group like items to handle a return shipment. No they have changed their minds and only want to group item types together and not resources, or any other type. So how do I group type items and like item numbers together and nothing else? This is driving me crazy.

Here is what I thought I could do but I am not sure if it functions this way; I would have a group in the report on item type and item no, and on the filter within the group properties put a filter of type item. Will this only process the group if the type is item and like its numbers?

Hi Kim,

If report needs only item type, you can filter it in report data item before sending data to layout. Otherwise, combine Group Filter for item type group.
