Projects management

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I want to manage many projects with one company ID. By example my Company ID is CEGEC and cegec wants to support children this company name is "Children Support", cegec wants to support family, that project's name is "Family Support". without creating an ID for Children support and another one for family support i want while launching Dynamics GP children support and family support can appear as two different companies but both are included inside the CEGEC ID.

how can i do it?

    Jonas,

Let me try to understand your question-

You want to track, Childern Support and Family Support I believe you want to track all Expenses and Income for each "project" I will call "department" in one Company.

I think you need to create GL segments in one company i.e.

    00-001-NaturalAct-00

In above example first sigment (00) is Company Code,  segment 001-Your Dept i.e. Children Support , and than your Natural Account- and last spare segment if you want.

But Again if you have two projects only than you can manage with GL Account segments if your have many projects and sub project in one company than better use Analytical Account , In Analytical Account your Chart of Account will not grow.

Let me know I try to address your question properly or not and other experts in this forum can guide you better than me... Let see what others suggesting you.

    Thanks

    Sandip

    Hi Jonas,

If this is specific to GP, you would probably get better answers in the GP-specific form.

    Regards,

    Toni
