I've received an email from Microsoft stating:

An update to your environment is scheduled for December 16, 2024

Account information

Environment name: Production

... but they haven't updated our Sandboxes yet. Aren't they supposed to do the Sandboxes first to give us a chance to test before it goes into Production environment?

Hi, The system just sets a default update date, and you can extend it in the Admin Center.

PS: Business Central 2024 wave 2 (BC25): Manage environment updates more flexibly – Major update: 30(60) days -> 5-month and Optional minor updates

Yes, you have to update sandbox first before production.

You must upgrade the sandbox environment before Prod manually.
