Change to closed-posted before bookings are finished

Posted on by 125

Is it not possible to change to closed-posted before a booking is finished? If I dont remember wrong this was possible earlier this year.

Dynamics says this in usermanual:
"No booking status can change the work order system status to Closed-Posted; changing the system status to Closed-Posted does not affect bookings."

This is important for us as we have workorders where all prices and products are set in forehand. And usually we need to invoice the customer before the booking is finished.

Thank you in advance.

    Hi Orjan,

As per the OOTB behavior, we cannot change the System status of Work Order to "Closed-Posted" when the bookings has the status - Travelling, On Break, In Progress. I believe it is a correct logic as the bookings should not be allowed to be closed when any action is ongoing.

Also I am not sure about the past behavior, it would be great if you can share FS/URS version or any related article which says that it was working before.

One of the way to achieve is using booking agreement setup docs.microsoft.com/.../set-up-customer-agreements. If this doesn't work, I believe you will have to implement custom logic to achieve the scenario of - invoicing the customer before the booking is finished

If this is helpful, kindly mark this as verified.

    Regards,

    Rakesh
