GP 2010 Payroll Reset Batch - Do you want to do a clean up of this batch?

Posted on by 30
Sometimes for whatever reasons the payroll batch gets a hiccup and you can't access it or need to reset it. When you do that you get asked a question: do you want to perform a clean up of this batch? some of my colleagues say "Yes" and some say "no" and no one seems to know what this function actually does. They said "well I don't know what it does so I just say no" and others say "if it wants to do a clean up then let it!". I searched on the web, and in the KB section but could not find any real answers! I find lots of articles on resetting payroll batches and how to do it, but no real information or detail on what the "clean up" actually does. Does anyone have any ideas?
