We have a situation where we have 2 warehouses (using license plate registration) in 2 different sites. These warehouses sometimes exchange stock and we want to use transfer orders for that. Picking and shipping a transfer order is no problem but to receiving a transfer order between 2 warehouses with license plate registration is only possible when using license plate receiving.
This means that the complete order will be received on the (target) license plate. So if we have 5 different item codes in the transfer order all items are put on the same locatin with the same license plate. This is not only not desirable but ofcourse there are also situations that this is not possible because it doesn't fit in the location. A workaround is to receive it on a bulk location and then move the items to their own locations. Problem with the workaroun is that no license plate is being created or printed when doing a movement which makes it difficult to put an unique license plate label on each of the items.
What is the best practice to deal with transfer orders between warehouses that are using license plate registration?
We are working on AX 2012 CU10
