As I told and you later said that by yourself, DimensionAttributeValue field contains references to RecId field of DimensionAttributeValue table.

    Hi Ludwig,

The family name is Tailor :)

The setup of COA with total accounts is a standard Contoso from Microsoft.

    Customer like the design.

If you have another alternative for grouping and totalling, will be more than happy.

I can understand that no solution to import to the table in question?

    Regards,

    David

    Hello David Tailer,

Why do you try to import total accounts?

With one exception, I find their setup pretty useless.

    Why do you need them?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

but Martin, from where to get values for DimensionAttributeValue field to fill Excel file?

you said i have to redesign, otherwise, but this is not helping me.

anybody knows what are the steps to import data into table DimensionAttributeValueTotallingCriteria?

Your own screenshot shows that you successfully imported the value, therefore if you use the right value, it should work.

Of course, the usual approach isn't exposing RecId to outside world or expecting them in import files. If you want that, you'll have to redesign your entity.

Yes you are right for AX version.

after investigation i found the following:

DimensionAttributeValue field from table DimensionValueAttributeTotallingCriteria is the RecId for DimensionAttributeValue table and EntityInstance field from DimensionAttributeValue table is the RecId from MainAccount table.

So how to fill the excel template with correct data to import records ?

It seems that the record was imported correctly, but you're importing wrong data. The value you put into the first column isn't a record ID of DimensionAttributeValue table; you incorrectly put a display value there. I wonder why your entity didn't validate and reject this value; you've ended up with inconsistent database.

By the way, I changed the version tag from "current version" to "Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012", because you're screenshots must be from AX 2012.

Well, i did the following steps:

    1. create custom entity for table DimensionValueAttributeTotallingCriteria.
    2.  and add it to target entities.
    3. add field DimensionAttributeValue to DMF staging.

when i run the import process with the following Excel data:

    TotalAccounts2.PNG

one record is added to staging and one record is updated on target.

Within Main Accounts -> Total - > Account Interval windows record added is not shown:

    TotalAccounts2.PNG

The record imported is inserted in the table in question as shown in the following screenshot:

    TotalAccounts3.PNG

    Hope this is clear enough.

Data management (data entities) is the right approach for importing data from Excel to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.

To be able to identify the problem with your custom entity, you'll have to tell us a bit more than that it didn't work.
