GP 2016 R2 Budget Exception Report - Security

My client has financial analysts that have security RPT_FIN_005* Budgets assigned.  When testing the upgrade, these folks got a permissions error to this report.  I cannot find anywhere in the reports that specifically lists this report.  What am I missing?

    GP does not upgrade security objects.  (There are scripts to add the new tasks but you'll still need to add access.)

    For the new Budget Validation report, you need to add that resource to the budget tasks that should have access.

    (Depending on what version you are coming from, you may want to take care of the Check Remittance report at the same time as that is another valuable report that won't be added to your upgraded security roles.)

    Hello Deborah,

    Lisa is correct in that during upgrades of Dynamics GP, we don't overwrite user security, which is why we have scripts that need to be run for GP 2013 R2 through GP 2018, to add the new security roles and tasks to your environment after an upgrade.

    If you run a dexsql.log of this permissions error, then when the error shows, look towards the end of the log file for a call to the zDP_SY10000SS_1 procedure, that usually tells us what the user doesn't have permissions to, if you can get us that information.
