On D365 (v8.2, on-premise) we have exchange server side sinchronisation for incoming/outgoing emails.
We had some problems with SQL server and in that time (approx. 24h) incoming emails were not created in D365. We received errors like "An error occurred while creating the incoming email "xxx email subject xxx" in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for the mailbox xxx" (error code 29, trace status Failure). After we solved problem with SQL incoming emails start to synchronize without any problem. Problem is that incoming emails for that time that we had problem with SQL were not created in D365 (we miss incoming emails in D365 for that time). Is there any way that we can sync again rejected incoming emails (or all incoming emails from specific time)?
Thanks for any suggestions.
You may be able to do it by following the following steps:-
Go to the Mail server's Profile
And in advanced settings change the Process Email from date to just before the database failed. Save the record and it should re-process the missing emails. Note I haven't done this in anger so I don't know what the risks will be. You may end up with duplicate email records from after the SQL server database was repaired
Could you report back if it works or fails I cannot find any information anywhere on recovering from the situation you are in...
